Description: Location: Nottingham or Chester\r\n\r\nOur client is looking for an experienced and motivated principal environmental consultant with a proven track record in business development, winning work and project management, as well as extensive experience of preparing and delivering environmental performance and permitting projects in the UK. As a trusted member of the business, you will have the opportunity to work with industry leaders and partner with a team that will support your continued professional career development.\r\n\r\nTaking on this role, you will:\r\n• Manage multidisciplinary environmental projects including preparing environmental permit applications, supporting clients with environmental regulatory compliance and implementing environmental management systems\r\n• Take responsibility for business growth in existing and new areas, including opportunity generation and proposal writing\r\n• Establish client relationships and win repeat work\r\n• Ensure that the team technical project work is completed to a high standard\r\n• Provide regulatory compliance advice to clients and colleagues, including liaison with the regulatory authorities\r\n• Assist junior team members in developing skills and competencies\r\n• Act as a technical specialist, contributing to sector consultations, presenting, etc. to raise the company's industry profile\r\n\r\nYou will have:\r\n• Extensive relevant experience with significant exposure to consultancy\r\n• Degree level education (but preferably higher) in a core science or engineering discipline\r\n• Chartered status with a relevant institution\r\n• A strong and up-to-date understanding of the Environmental Permitting regulatory regimes in the UK (preferably onshore and offshore)\r\n• Considerable experience in dealing with environmental legislation and the delivery of environmental improvements for industrial operations and installations\r\n• A track record of network development and relevant industry events\r\n• A strong track record of developing opportunities, winning work and managing client relationships\r\n• Broad industrial sector experience, specifically including the oil and gas sector\r\n• The ability to demonstrate additional expertise in any of the areas of environmental engineering, COMAH, energy management/emissions trading, air/water/waste management, carbon management or business development\r\n• Experience of team leadership or formal mentoring and coaching roles within a commercial environment\r\n\r\nWhen applying for this vacancy please ensure that you attach your CV in WORD FORMAT including your full contact details and postal address.
