Summary:

An opportunity is available for a number of Leading Hand Mechanical / Avionic / Inspectors to work on the (Night-shift) within an aerospace engineering organisation based in Bournemouth Dorset. This is a 12 Month contract and you will be tasked with the supervision and hands on completion of engineering activities or tests as directed by the SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief. Ensure that all inspections are carried out as defined in the Client / A-M ITC document and maintain independence. Deputising for the Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer (non-certifying tasks) in his absence. Awareness of and compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

Principal Accountabilities:

Duties of the role: Ensuring that all technical staff working under their supervision carry-out their duties in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with the relevant maintenance manuals, provided documentation and the Company exposition. To act as an Inspector with a company approval to carry out verification checks / inspections in accordance with AiM Job cards and FSTA procedures. To raise observations on non-compliant work and initiate the HNC process with Production Engineering. To be particularly responsible for the tasks areas of aircraft allocated to their control by his/her SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief. Al tasks are carried out in accordance with the Client Procedures and processes. Assist with the ground movements of aircraft assigned to them by their SLAE/LAE. Recommending, in conjunction with their SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief the nature, content, and priority of non-stock stores demands. To report all safety/disciplinary matters to their SLAE/LAE. Requisitioning engineers in conjunction with their SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief of other disciplines to an aircraft as required and to co-ordinate them into the activity. Assist the SLAE/LAE for trades engaged in work on an area of the aircraft he has been allocated. Assist the SLAE/LAE defining, co-ordinating and being present at all occasions requiring systems and/or engine ground run functional testing of aircraft systems. Ensure documentation of aircraft area under their control in order that they may assure themselves that all required entries are promptly and correctly recorded. Assisting their SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief in monitoring the performance of staff under their control including, attendance, timekeeping, sickness etc. You will have a formalised Aircraft Engineering Training or a recognised apprenticeship within aviation. Hold an EASA ‘A’ Licence and have a full understanding of A-M additional Requirements. You will have served an Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or Service Equivalent. Have held a supervisory position. Be able to effectively manage staff allocated to him in SLAE/LAE’s absence. Have experience of Structural / Electrical modifications and Scheduling Maintenance.

Qualifications:
Desirable skills will include: B1 or B2 qualification with approvals. Wide body aircraft A330 experience. Be a Leader / Supervisor, Self-motivated, Good communication skills, team worker, Good Leader, problem solving abilities. Smart Appearance, Computer literate and hold a valid driving licence.

Key Technical skills:

The night-shift will run Monday to Thursday from 19:00 to 07:00 (four working days). You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo Baseline Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.
