| Description: | Job title: B1 Licensed Engineer - (Night Shift) Location: Bournemouth Contract: Type: Contractor Duration: 12 months Working: Hours: 46.0 Hours per Week Job Description An opportunity is available for a number of B1 Licensed Engineers (Night-shift) within an aerospace engineering organisation. You will be tasked with: The supervision and/or completion of engineering conversion / maintenance / modification activities functional tests and duplicate inspections as directed, or by the functional Engineering Manager when work is carried out off site. Have an awareness of and compliance with Health & Safety procedures. The supervision of personnel allocated and the control of resources. Deputising for the crew chief if requested in his absence. To incorporate the Structural /system modifications to the FSTA aircraft. To ensure reporting staff undertake training as required for the conversion. Provide experience and knowledge of the aircraft to the new members of the conversion team. Maintain all SHE Standards and company and regulatory procedures and carry out PDRs for the Team Duties will include: Ensuring that all technical staff working under his/her supervision carries out their duties in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with the relevant Aircraft Manuals processes / procedures and the Company Exposition. To be particularly responsible for the line Maintenance / Hangar maintenance of aircraft, aircraft equipment allocated to his/her control by his/her Crew Chief or Manager. The liaising with production control for movement of spares to and from Stores. The ground movements of aircraft assigned to him/her by his/her Crew Chief. Recommending, in conjunction with his Crew Chief the nature, content and priority of non-stock stores demands. To report all safety/disciplinary matters to his/her Crew Chief. Requisitioning engineers of other disciplines to an aircraft as required and to co-ordinate them into the activity. Assuming overall responsibility for all trades engaged in work on the allocated area of the aircraft he/she has been allocated. Delivery of the Aircraft in a timely manner as directed by the Crew Chief / manager. Defining, co-ordinating and being present at all occasions requiring hydraulic system and/or engine ground run functional testing of aircraft systems if required. Assuming direct control of documentation of aircraft area under his/her control in order that he/she may assure themselves that all required entries are promptly and correctly recorded. Assisting his/her Crew Chief in monitoring the performance of staff under his/her control, including attendance, timekeeping, sickness etc. Other tasks set by the Manager or Crew Chief that are considered to be within the SLAE /LAE sphere of influence and control. Qualifications: Core Competences should include: To embody, supervise, carry out, inspect and over sign engineering tasks for the FSTA modification tasks to the Series Conversion aircraft. To provide knowledge and experience of the conversion. To ensure that the Series Aircraft are converted on time and within budget (in association with the Conversion Manager/ Hangar Manager). To attend daily Production progress meetings. (In association with the FSTA PM/ HM). To ensure all Health & Safety, Quality and Security processes and procedures are complied with. To ensure the correct and timely completion of all aircraft documentation in support of the maintenance or modification. To ensure that all work on the aircraft and associated components is carried out in accordance with relevant authority’s processes and procedures. Regular reviews of the team / individuals performance to ensure the quality standards are maintained. To act as an inspector with the authority to carry out independent checks /duplicate inspections as authorised by his/her company approvals. To manage the day to day tasking of engineering personnel on conversion tasks To carry out the directions of the Production Management. To maintain a clean safe environment to work in. (Best Practice) Key Technical skills: Essential Skills: You will have served an Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or Service Equivalent, have extensive experience in an Aircraft Engineering discipline. Hold a Current EASA Licence B1, Type rated A330-200 -Trent 700. Experience of working with wide body aircraft. Supervisory experience. You will be a self-motivated, with good communication skills, team worker, Good Leader, problem solving abilities and Computer literate. Desirable Skills: BTEC ONC in an Engineering discipline. Supervisory qualification. Large aircraft conversion and modification experience. The night-shift will run Monday to Thursday from 19:00 to 07:00 (four working days). You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo Baseline Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.
