| Description: | Our client is a UK based renewable energy, environmental and planning consultancy providing support to utilities, developers, industry, communities and the public sector, in onshore and coastal environments. Their business strategy is underpinned by recruiting and developing high calibre staff and they are currently further strengthening their team in the Cheshire office through the recruitment of a Senior Ecologist or Principal Ecologist. Duties will include: - Scoping and Project Management of a range of medium- to large-scale projects; - Building/maintaining relationships with Clients; - Business generation and promotion of the company to new clients; - High level aspects of technical reporting and tendering; - Review of reports; - Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on behalf of Clients; - Line management and mentoring of other members of the Ecology Team; - Resource planning and financial reporting; - Maintaining your own and others' Continuing Professional Development; - Operating at all times in accordance with the IEEM Professional Code of Conduct. Applications are welcome from experienced ecologists, ideally with a high level of technical competence in botany and / or ornithology, who are fully conversant with the framework of legislation and guidance within which we practice consultancy in the UK. Experience of providing expert witness testimony would be a distinct advantage. Although the main business of the company is currently in the wind energy sector, our workload encompasses a wider range of development-related work, and experience across a range of sectors would be welcomed. Accurate record-keeping and good project and budgetary management skills are a fundamental requirement of the post, as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to advise clients on technical issues both strategically and in detail when required. Salary is up to £50 000 plus pension, healthcare and bonus.
