| Description: | Our client is one of the broadest based renewable energy companies and is active in the development, construction and ownership of wind farms on a global scale. They have a dedicated offshore development, engineering, construction and operations team which has successfully participated in UK Rounds 1,2 and 3 which is expanding to meet the future opportunities in the UK and European offshore wind sector. As a result of this expansion they are currently looking to recruit an Offshore Health and Safety Advisor to support the business. Responsibilities include: • To manage the Health and Safety needs of the Company's offshore renewables team. • To participate in the development of the Company's offshore renewables business particularly in relation to the provision of health and safety management services. • To provide health and safety management services and advice to the Company's clients. • To develop and maintain Company offshore health and safety management systems. • To ensure that all construction / operational activities on vessels / barges / turbines and related assets are carried out in a safe manner and in adherence to the company's safety policies, procedures, statutory regulations and guidelines. • Conduct site visits to undertake compliance audits, monitor performance and recommend improvement/ remedial actions • Develop and support health and safety campaigns, promoting and disseminating successful practice. • Perform and provide feedback/ guidance on risk assessments • Provide support for incident investigations • Advise on the implementation of Regulatory, current and emerging requirements. The successful candidate will:- • Be able to undertake duties involving boat and helicopter transfer to offshore facilities. Duties may also require work at height, involving climbing to access work areas. Training will be provided. • Preferably have experience working in the offshore renewables industry, conversion training will be provided to those with onshore experience • Have proven Health & Safety experience working on new build construction projects. Related civil, electrical and mechanical engineering experience would be advantageous • Have a recognised safety qualification (minimum of NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) and hold corporate membership of a British safety institution (e.g. MIOSH) • Hold a full clean UK driving licence • Have excellent report writing and presentation skills • Be self motivated, with the ability to work independently and in small teams • Have excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate and influence at all levels both within the organisation and externally with clients, suppliers, trade bodies, etc • Preferably have a knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 • Have good IT and information systems (IS) skills To discuss this position in strictest confidence please contact Russell McCaig on 0141 227 3953 or email a copy of your CV to russell.mccaig@maxwellbruce.com Maxwell Bruce operates as an Employment Agency in providing permanent or contract job-seeking services and as an Employment Business in providing temporary job-seeking services. | ||
