| Description: | Our client is one of the broadest based renewable energy companies and is active in the development, construction and ownership of wind farms on a global scale. They have a dedicated offshore development, engineering, construction and operations team which has successfully participated in UK Rounds 1, 2 and 3 which is expanding to meet the future opportunities in the UK and European offshore wind sector. As a result of this expansion they are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to support the business. As a member of the Offshore Engineering Department, you will work with our in-house development, engineering and construction teams and with our clients and contractors in a range of roles, including: • The specification, management and technical evaluation of offshore wind farm electrical designs and FEED studies. • Evaluation and optimisation of wind farm electrical system options including HVDC/AC selection, onshore and offshore substation arrangements and cabling designs. • Management of the design interface between offshore wind farm electrical system designers and contractors, the wind turbine supplier and the grid connection provider. • Provision of electrical engineering support to project procurement including input to procurement strategies and the management of contract specifications and technical reviews of tender submissions. • Provision of electrical engineering support during construction and operational phases including the management of design reviews, the control of electrical engineering interfaces and the approval of construction and commissioning procedures. • The selection and management of electrical design consultants. • Coordination of electrical engineering and design support from the company’s in-house engineering department. • Development of procedures for electrical engineering work within the Offshore team. This role would suit a degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer with relevant design, operating or construction experience in electrical engineering and/or power generation systems. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities: • Knowledge and experience of electrical power systems design and specification. • Knowledge and experience of international standards, UK grid codes and their impact on power generation systems. • Proven experience of the specification, procurement and management of electrical design studies. • Proven experience of the procurement of electrical equipment and/or electrical works contracts. • Willing to travel within the UK and Europe.
