Description: Our client, one of the world's leading marine energy companies is currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join their creative, innovative team at their headquarters in Edinburgh. The company have developed the world's largest working hydro-electric wave energy device which was officially launched by Scotland's First Minister at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney in November 2009. They plan to develop commercial wave farms around the world and have recently signed an agreement with a major utility company to develop up to 1,000MW of wave farms by 2020. Discussions are currently in progress with other potential developers.

The Structural Engineer will oversee all structural engineering aspects of current and future projects and will ultimately leading a team of Structural Engineers and sub-contractors who will take the Wave and Tidal Energy Conversion projects from proven concept to fully developed commercial product.

The Structural Engineer will assist the Engineering Manager in the creation and consolidation of intellectual property within the company and to manage the delivery of wave and tidal energy projects for our customers from concept to completion.

Applications are welcome from candidates who are:

- Degree qualified or equivalent (MSc, PhD or MBA of additional interest)
- Chartered engineer in a civil/structural engineering discipline
- Engineering design and installation experience for marine and/or subsea structures essential
- Management of design and construction projects, preferably in the marine, subsea or renewable energy sector
